Run by a TM Forum certified evaluator — certified since 2025. A questionnaire- and process-based assessment following TM Forum's IG1252 evaluation methodology and the GB1059 ANLET library, covering RAN and core fault management, IP network optimisation and fault management, change management, network planning and RAN energy-efficiency optimisation, scored against levels 0 to 5.

Digitata Networks has been a TM Forum certified evaluator since 2025, applies TM Forum's published methodology, and its team has undertaken TM Forum AN Levels training. The result is portable because the framework and the scoring are TM Forum's, not ours.

The problem it addresses

Operators are targeting autonomy — many have publicly committed to reaching high autonomy levels, but lack an objective way to assess where they are today and measure progress against industry standards and peers. Self-assessment without a methodology produces a number nobody trusts.

The six-level scale

TM Forum defines autonomy on a six-level scale. Assessment is always per-scenario rather than a whole-network verdict.

Scope and method

The assessment covers a specific domain and operational flow, for example RAN fault management or core network stability. It is questionnaire- and process-based, following the IG1252 evaluation methodology and the relevant ANLET questionnaire, and is designed to be vendor-independent. Scoring runs on the Intent–Awareness–Analysis–Decision–Execution activity chain, with each question answered by selecting the option that matches observed practice, supported by evidence. Completing it requires your subject-matter experts — first and second-line operations, RAN and core specialists, field maintenance — working alongside the evaluator. TM Forum's Autonomous Networks Level 4 solution packages define the scenarios; the packages published so far are listed below, and are a separate artefact from the ANLET questionnaires used for scoring.

How the roles work

The framework defines two roles: the Evaluator, who runs the assessment, and the Evaluated, whose network is scored. Digitata Networks acts as Evaluator. TM Forum itself does not carry out assessments — it operates a separate validation service that verifies a submitted self-assessment used the tooling correctly and that the evidence matches the scores. It is worth being precise about what that validation covers: it confirms process and evidence, not that the network physically performs at the assessed level, which would require separate network testing.

Accreditation, stated plainly: Digitata Networks has been a TM Forum certified evaluator since 2025, applies TM Forum's framework and methodology, and its team has undertaken TM Forum AN Levels training. Beyond running the assessment, we can facilitate submission of a completed assessment to TM Forum for independent validation.
